The We Free Men

Since they started arriving in 2014, the re-issued hardcovers of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels have been immensely popular. So popular in fact that when Gollancz stopped doing them because they had reached the end of the books that they could publish, Doubleday picked up the slack with the ones they had the rights to, even hiring the same designer, John McLaren, and the same design company, Us Now, to continue the series so they would match the Gollancz editions. The only fly in the ointment was that the five Tiffany Aching novels were released in a black dust-jacketed hardcover that didn’t quite match the others. No doubt, this caused considerable distress to completionists who really like their series’ to match. However, this year we start getting the Tiffany Aching novels in matching editions that you can line up with all the others that you’ve collected. Furthermore, observant people may have noticed that the Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents was somehow missed on the hardcover re-print list. This too will soon be corrected. This month we’ll have the first three Tiffany’s arriving in these wonderful new editions, with the rest later in the year or early 2022.
