Attention short fiction aficionados! I have recently been able to lay my hands on a variety of very good SF and Fantasy anthologies. How do I know they’re good? Well, they have all been edited by our very own Jonathan Strahan, who has produced more than 50 anthologies, won a bunch of awards (the cool ones!), and has worked with loads of spec-fic writers (again, the cool ones!).

One of the more exciting items is Subterranean Press’s “Swords and Dark Magic” anthology edited by Jonathan Strahan and Lou Anders.

What is so special about this collection is that it could be called a ‘perfect storm’ of Sword and Sorcery Fantasy. It features stories by: Joe Abercrombie, Glen Cook, Scott Lynch, K J Parker, Steven Erikson, Gene Wolf, Tanith Lee and C J Cherryh. Oh, there’s also an Elric story by Michael Moorcock and a Majipoor story by Robert Silverberg.

Now for the really good bit. Subterranean also produced a deluxe Hardcover version signed by all the authors (except Gene Wolfe), but limited to 500 copies. As you can imagine, they sold out fairly quickly and are now out of print and unobtainable unless you want to fight it out with collectors online.

Except…

I have a small number of these Deluxe Signed Editions and will be selling them for the original US cover price of $75. Once these are gone I will not be able to get any more.

The rest of the books are at the sort of prices you’d expect to pay on-line or in the US. Paperbacks from $7.99, Trade Paperbacks from $9.99 and Hardcovers from $16.99. Stock is limited however, so if you are into short fiction now is a good time to think about visiting the store. Jonathan is also happy to sign any copies, just let me know and I’ll arrange it.
